More Than a Clean Car: Anthony Meyer Brings Passion and Precision to A+B Detail St. Louis
For Anthony Meyer, the best part of detailing a vehicle often comes at the very end.
It is the moment when a customer sees the finished car for the first time. The paint has regained its depth and shine. The interior looks renewed. The vehicle smells fresh, feels cared for, and may look better than it did when the owner first brought it home.
Sometimes, the customer simply stops and stares.
“I get to experience it when they pick up their vehicle, and their mouth drops,” Meyer said. “They’re like, ‘Holy cow. It looks better than when I got it from the dealership.’”
That reaction is what Meyer works toward at A+B Detail St. Louis. Every product, tool, and step in the process serves a larger purpose: helping customers feel proud of their vehicles again.
“I want people to feel special,” he said.
A Passion That Started Early
Meyer’s interest in clean vehicles began long before he knew professional detailing could become a business.
Growing up as one of 14 children, his family traveled in a 15-passenger van. After vacations, the children could earn a little money, or some appreciation from their parents, by cleaning it.
Meyer was often the one crawling beneath the seats, vacuuming the floors, and reaching the places others might overlook. At the time, it was simply a chore. Years later, he realized the patience, persistence, and attention to detail required to clean that family van had stayed with him.
As a teenager and young adult, Meyer took pride in keeping his own vehicles clean. They were not necessarily new, but he wanted them to look and feel as though they were.
That eventually caught the attention of his wife Brittany’s friends and coworkers. They would ask why the Meyers’ vehicles always looked so clean. When Brittany explained that her husband cared for them, the next question was often the same: Could he clean theirs?
Meyer began researching professional detailing and quickly discovered an entire world of specialized tools, chemicals, techniques, and protective treatments. What started as curiosity became a passion.
He studied professional detailers online, tested products, purchased equipment, and worked to understand not only how to clean a vehicle, but how to care for every surface properly.
In 2021, he began offering interior details through Facebook. On Aug. 11 of that year, he officially formed A+B Detail St. Louis, named for Anthony and Brittany.
Built Through Relationships
The business began with basic interior cleanings, many of them for mothers who needed help reclaiming family vehicles from crumbs, spills, and the everyday evidence of busy lives.
Meyer remains grateful for those early customers and the way they shared their experiences with friends, relatives, and coworkers.
“Women have really built my business to where it is now,” Meyer said.
Those recommendations helped A+B grow, but Meyer believes the relationships behind them were just as important as the work itself.
A customer is not simply selecting a package from a menu. Before beginning, Meyer wants to understand the vehicle, its condition, how it is used, and what the owner hopes to see when the work is complete.
Some customers are trying to refresh a family vehicle. Others have purchased a used car for a son or daughter and want it to feel new. Some have finally bought the truck, sports car, or luxury vehicle they have wanted for years and are ready to protect it.
That conversation helps Meyer recommend the proper service, set realistic expectations, and build a process around what matters most to the customer.
A Process Built Around the Vehicle
Meyer is not interested in rushing vehicles through as quickly as possible. He asks questions, examines the condition of the interior and paint, and considers how the owner wants to maintain the vehicle after it leaves his shop.
That selective, consultation-based approach has become an important part of A+B Detail St. Louis. It helps ensure that the service matches the vehicle’s actual needs and that the customer understands what the process is designed to accomplish.
Every Detail Has a Purpose
A+B Detail St. Louis offers interior detailing, exterior detailing, paint correction, ceramic coating, and several full-service packages.
The Silver, Gold, and Platinum packages provide different levels of cleaning, restoration, and protection. Depending on the selected service, the work may include vacuuming, glass cleaning, steam treatment, odor removal, upholstery care, leather cleaning and conditioning, hand washing, wheel and tire care, paint decontamination, polishing, protective treatments, and engine-bay detailing.
Meyer pays close attention to every part of the process, including chemical composition, dilution ratios, towel softness, and selecting the proper tools for each surface, so customers can appreciate the quality in the finished result.
“It’s like skincare for your vehicle,” Meyer said. “It’s customized.”
That customization matters because automotive surfaces do not all respond to the same products or techniques. Paint, leather, glass, plastic, carpeting, and upholstery each require different care.
Meyer has invested thousands of dollars testing chemicals and learning how products behave. He considers the condition of the vehicle, the type of contamination present, and the level of protection the customer wants before choosing a process.

Restoring and Protecting the Finish
For vehicles with swirl marks, oxidation, dull paint, or minor surface imperfections, A+B offers paint-correction services.
Paint correction can require hours of polishing and careful inspection. The goal is to improve the clarity and depth of the finish by reducing visible imperfections before applying protection.
Ceramic coating adds another level of care. The coating bonds with the vehicle’s clear coat, creating a hydrophobic protective layer that helps repel water, dirt, bugs, bird droppings, and other environmental contaminants.
It is not an invisible shield against every scratch or chip, but it can make washing easier, help preserve the finish, and allow the vehicle to maintain its shine longer.
Meyer offers several ceramic-coating packages with different levels and lengths of protection. The process can include decontamination, paint correction, coating application, curing time, and a final inspection.
He prefers to let coated vehicles cure overnight. Afterward, he examines them in natural sunlight, looking for high spots or uneven areas that should be corrected before the customer arrives.
Standard detailing services generally receive a 24-hour turnaround. Ceramic coating and paint-correction projects often require approximately 48 hours, depending on the vehicle’s condition and the amount of work required.
For Meyer, that additional time is part of maintaining his standards. He would rather inspect the vehicle carefully than send it home quickly and ask the customer to return later.
Aiming for Excellence
Meyer’s favorite vehicles to detail may include Corvettes, Porsches, luxury cars, and other vehicles that excite an automotive enthusiast, but he does not believe passion for a vehicle is determined by its price.
“I don’t care what people drive,” Meyer said.
A 2008 Toyota Camry that carries years of memories can matter just as much to its owner as a new sports car. A used vehicle purchased for a daughter can become a father’s way of making sure she receives something clean, cared for, and ready for the road.
What matters is why the customer values it.
Meyer wants every owner to recognize the care that went into the work, whether the vehicle is a daily commuter, a family SUV, a work truck, or a long-awaited dream car.
“Everything is being done by hand,” Meyer said. “Even though I am not perfect, I aim for excellence, and that’s what clients get.”
That commitment has attracted customers from beyond Jefferson County. Meyer recalled a couple who had recently moved to the St. Louis area from California. Although several detailing businesses were located closer to their new home, they selected A+B Detail St. Louis after studying Meyer’s website, social media, garage, and previous work.
They trusted him with their new Lexus because they believed they could see the care he brought to the process.
For Meyer, their decision was deeply meaningful. It showed that customers were not simply comparing prices. They were looking for someone they trusted to touch one of their most valuable possessions.
Part of the Automotive Community
Meyer also works to build relationships outside the detailing shop.
A+B Detail St. Louis attends car shows, business gatherings, and community events. Meyer has organized free car shows, hosted a trunk-or-treat event, sponsored activities, and set up booths where families and vehicle owners can meet him, ask questions, and learn more about proper automotive care.
He sees those events as an opportunity to become part of the community rather than simply advertise to it.
“If I don’t get out there and engage with people, I’m just going to be the guy that’s there to make money off people,” Meyer said. “Let me hang out with you, let me get to know you, talk about your vehicle, or what’s going on in your life.”
That emphasis on relationships, combined with a passion for the work itself, has helped A+B Detail St. Louis grow from a Facebook post offering affordable interior cleanings into a professional detailing operation serving customers across the region.
The vehicles have changed. The tools, products, and services have expanded. The purpose, however, remains familiar.
Meyer still finds satisfaction in reaching the places others might overlook, completing each step carefully, and giving someone the feeling of stepping into a vehicle that has been renewed.
For A+B Detail St. Louis, every detail matters because every vehicle has an owner who cares about the result.
