JEFFERSON REVIEW
MONDAY EDITION
From the Editor’s Desk
Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a solemn reminder that the freedoms we enjoy in Jefferson County and across this nation were purchased by men and women who gave everything. Before the cookouts, festivals, ball games, and summer plans begin, we pause to remember the fallen, honor their families, and give thanks for the country they helped preserve.
This edition of The Jefferson Review reflects that spirit of remembrance, service, and local pride. From the flags carried through Arnold in a Memorial Day tribute, to a new dance hall bringing energy back to Main Street, to citizens pressing for answers at city hall, this week’s stories show a county that remembers its past, shows up for its neighbors, and keeps building toward what comes next.
Veterans, families, children, flags, a police escort, and a 101-year-old Battle of the Bulge veteran helped lead a powerful community tribute to those who never came home.
Festus has a new place to gather, dance, eat, and make memories, and the soft opening already has people talking.
Missed trash pickups, yard waste complaints, development questions, and pickleball court spending brought pointed discussion before the Arnold City Council.
In Those Who Serve, we honor a Jefferson County man known for showing up, loving his family, encouraging others, and serving quietly wherever he is needed.
This Business Spotlight shares how one Imperial program is helping children with autism, parents, and siblings find support, understanding, and community.
County Dispatch
Veterans, families and children gathered in Arnold for a Memorial Day weekend march that carried American flags, honored the fallen and showed the strength of a community determined to remember the true meaning of the holiday.
Tanglefoot Dance Hall opened its doors with music, dancing, food, mocktails, and a crowd ready to try something new. From line dancing to family night, the soft opening showed why this new Festus spot is already creating a buzz.
Trash delays, yard waste complaints and questions over pickleball court spending all came before Arnold City Council this week, as residents pushed for answers and council members were asked to ratify work after the fact
Those Who Serve
Ken Jenner’s life has been marked by something simple, steady, and powerful: he shows up. As a father, friend, encourager, and servant-hearted neighbor, he has spent years pouring into the people around him, creating a legacy built not on titles or attention, but on faithfulness, kindness, and a willingness to be there when others need him.
Business Spotlight
For many families raising a child with autism, summer camp can feel out of reach. But in Imperial, Camp Jump Start Autism Adventure is building something different: a place where children, parents, and siblings can learn, play, and finally feel understood.

Adoptable Pet of the Week
Hi there… do you happen to need a friend? Because I would really, really love to be one. I’m a happy, sweet shepherd mix girl, around 3–4 years old, and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I love people. Like… REALLY love people. I’ve never met a stranger on two legs — every person I see is automatically my new best friend and potential petting buddy.
Treats? Eh, I could take ‘em or leave ‘em. Sometimes I’ll snack, sometimes I’ll pass. But pets? Oh yes. Ear scratches, belly rubs, cuddles, holding hands while we watch TV… that’s the good stuff. I also love going for walks so I can meet even more humans who might tell me I’m pretty.
Now, other dogs and cats? Well, they’re a little weird, if I’m being honest. I’d much rather hang out with my people than worry about furry roommates. My perfect home is one where I can be your shadow, your snuggle buddy, and your most loyal girl. Give me love, a cozy spot beside you, and plenty of pets, and I’ll give you my whole heart forever.
My ID# is 828149 and my adoption fee is only $50. I am spayed, up to date on my vaccines, been treated for fleas/ticks, been dewormed, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Come pet me today!
