From the Editor’s Desk

This Thursday edition looks at trust, service, and community connection across Jefferson County. In Festus, a tense recall debate ended with all four resolutions failing. In Arnold, officers are using popsicles and park visits to build relationships with families. And at the county level, the Wow Entertainment proposal took another step forward after a denial resolution failed.

We also highlight Larry Hostetler’s years of service with The Salvation Army in Arnold, share an urgent animal control update, and feature an adoptable puppy who is ready for a home. As always, thank you for reading The Jefferson Review and staying connected to the stories shaping our county.

That means adoptions are urgently needed. Every dog or cat adopted helps open space so the shelter can continue accepting other adoptable animals in need.

Please consider adopting today.

Adoptable Pet of the Week

Animal ID: 835804
[PET ALT TEXT]

Meet the sweetest little wrinkle-faced girl, ID#835804! This adorable 4-month-old puppy appears to be a Hound/Sharpei mix (but who really knows!), complete with velvety short hair, precious wrinkly skin, and those extra-large ears that make her impossible to forget.

Found as a stray, the world was a very scary place for her at first, but with love and patience from the shelter staff, she has blossomed into a happy, playful puppy who absolutely craves human affection. Nothing makes her happier than cuddling close and soaking up attention from her people.

She can be a little nervous around new dogs since they seem so big and scary to her, but she is your typical goofy, playful pup once she feels safe. Her short coat means very little dog hair to worry about around the house, and she is still learning the ropes of being housebroke.

Her $135 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick preventative, and microchip. Come meet this precious girl and get ready for endless puppy kisses today!
