Jefferson Review Snow Day Photo Challenge

This is the biggest snowstorm Jefferson County has seen in years, and moments like this don’t come around very often. So we figured—why not have a little fun with it?

We want to see you—or your kids—enjoying your favorite snow day activity. Building a snowman, sledding the biggest hill, backyard football, snow angels, hot cocoa breaks, or simply enjoying the quiet after the snow falls—if it’s a snow day tradition in your house, we want to see it.

How to Enter

  • Send us one photo
  • Include a short story explaining why it’s your favorite snow day activity
  • In the email subject line, write: SNOW DAY
  • Submit by Friday at noon

We’ll feature all submitted photos and stories in Saturday’s first edition of The Jefferson Review, where readers will vote for their favorite.

The winner will receive a shout-out in the next edition—and a little local bragging rights.

Jefferson County remains in the grip of deep winter following the largest snowstorm seen in years. Bitter cold will persist through the week, with temperatures staying well below normal and little meaningful relief until late in the weekend.

Monday, Jan. 26: Partly sunny and very cold. High near 13°F. Overnight low around 12°F.

Tuesday, Jan. 27: Mostly sunny but still cold. High near 32°F. Overnight low around 15°F.

Wednesday, Jan. 28: A mix of sun and clouds. High around 28°F. Overnight low near 10°F.

Thursday, Jan. 29: Cloudier and colder again. High near 21°F. Overnight low around 4°F.

Friday, Jan. 30: Mostly cloudy and very cold. High near 15°F. Overnight low near 1°F.

Saturday, Jan. 31: Cold with a chance of light snow. High around 14°F. Overnight low near 5°F.

Sunday, Feb. 1: Partly cloudy and cold, with slight moderation. High near 22°F. Overnight low around 9°F.

Prolonged cold conditions may impact travel, pets, pipes, and outdoor activities. Residents are encouraged to use caution and take necessary winter precautions.
