Why are you running for this office?
I am running for office to help defend the citizens of this county from the rampant corporate and political greed that has been devastating our fair state.
What experience best prepares you to serve in this role?
I have formerly served as a city alderman
What do you believe is the most important issue facing Jefferson County right now?
the invasion of data centers
How would you balance the needs of your district with broader statewide legislative priorities?
I’ll work for policies that support local businesses in our district, county, and state who provide good jobs and keep our economy growing. And I’ll work to bring new businesses here that want to capitalize on our skilled Missouri workforce and quality of life. But I’ll always put workers’ interests before the special interests of large corporations.
What specific legislation would you like to sponsor or support during your first term or next term?
For more than 20 years the state legislature has worked hard to cut taxes for corporations and the wealthy. I feel it is time for the representatives of this state to look into rolling back the tax breaks and make the rich pay their fair share in taxes.
Also, I believe that property tax appraised values should be locked in at the priced evaluation at the time of purchase. If the Super Rich cannot be taxed on unrealized gains on their stock portfolios, then I fail to see how it is fair to tax homeowners on unrealized appraised valuation on a home that they HAVE NOT SOLD.
How should Missouri address rising costs for families and seniors, including housing, utilities, groceries, insurance, and taxes?
reinstate prior tax rates for the rich and corporations in order to relieve the tax rates on lower income families.
What role should state government play in supporting public safety, law enforcement, and crime victims?
"States should prioritize funding for community safety investments that have proven to reduce violence, such as violence intervention programs, community policing, and public health–driven approaches to substance use and mental health. This includes supporting local law enforcement with tools, training, and resources to address both violent and non-violent crime." -direct quote that I agree with
How would you protect local control while also ensuring state laws are applied fairly across Missouri?
By opposing any attempts to override local authorities or city councils that is not absolutely necessary for public safety
What are your views on school choice legislation in Missouri?
Public tax Dollars belong in Public Schools!!!
any other option is acceptable for those that wish to pay for private education, just as it has been for decades. Subsidizing private schools with public dollars is simply theft.
What transportation, road, or infrastructure concerns in Jefferson County should receive more attention from the state?
At present I feel like the state road crews have been doing an excellent job on Jefferson County roads. But I could be wrong.
Would you support legislation for a taxpayer Bill of Rights? Why or why not?
Unsure at present
Do you support or oppose Right to Work legislation in Missouri? Why?
OPPOSE !!!!
I fully support Unions 100%
Right to Work is a lie
What is your opinion on work requirements for Medicaid or other public assistance programs?
I think this is a ridiculous idea because most of the time the people on these programs are there because they are unable to work due to physical limitations.
How will you stay accessible and accountable to constituents after the election?
If at all possible, I think that each district should have a local office accessible to constituents to maximize communication
Why should voters choose you for this role?
I have experience in this role, and I am firmly against letting corporation and mega donors control the narrative of laws being created in Jefferson City.
Government is supposed to support and protect the people it was elected to serve. Not those that can pay more.
I firmly believe that "Citizens United" was the absolute WORST decision to ever come out of the Supreme Court.
