JEFFERSON REVIEW
THURSDAY EDITION
From the Editor’s Desk
This week’s Jefferson Review reflects something we’re seeing more and more across our county: important decisions are no longer happening quietly — they’re happening in packed rooms, in public conversations, and in communities that care deeply about the outcome.
From the discussion around data centers to the questions surrounding Proposition M in the Fox C-6 School District, there is a clear theme — Jefferson County residents want to understand what’s being proposed, how it impacts their daily lives, and what it means for the future of the place they call home.
That’s exactly where we aim to step in.
In This Edition
- Proposition M Explained — What Fox C-6 is proposing, how it would work, and what happens next
- Inside Animal Control — A closer look at the county’s facility, new hours, and animals ready for adoption
- Data Center Debate — A packed room, competing perspectives, and big questions about taxes, utilities, and growth
- Business Spotlight: The Property Cousins — A relationship-first approach helping buyers get into homes sooner
- Weather Outlook — A stretch of warm days heading into the weekend
- Government Meetings — Key meetings happening this week across Jefferson County
- Community Events — From food truck nights to Easter egg hunts and live music
- Adoptable Pet of the Week — Meet a playful (and handsome) kitty ready for a home
This week, you’ll find a closer look at Proposition M and what it could mean for local schools, an inside look at Jefferson County Animal Control and the work being done to connect animals with homes, and a recap of a spirited discussion on data center development — one of the most talked-about issues in the county right now.
You’ll also meet The Property Cousins, a local business taking a relationship-first approach to real estate, helping buyers feel confident long before they ever sign a contract.
As always, we’ve included your weekly look at weather, government meetings, and community events — because staying informed isn’t just about the big issues, it’s about knowing what’s happening right around you.
Jefferson County continues to grow, evolve, and face new opportunities and challenges. The more informed our community is, the stronger it becomes.
We’re glad you’re here and grateful to be part of that conversation.

Adoptable Pet of the Week
Meet Our Very Handsome Kitty, ID# 812196
This charming boy first arrived at the shelter as a tiny kitten in July 2025. Back then, he was considered a little “spicy” and feral, but with patience, gentle care, and a lot of encouragement, he began to learn that people aren’t so bad after all.
Now 8 months old, he’s ready to find a home of his very own.
He can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but once he gets comfortable, his sweet side really shines. He loves gentle head scratches and affection, and will happily hang out nearby once he knows he can trust you.
This handsome guy is fairly independent and prefers to keep all four paws on the ground. He’s not a big fan of being picked up or manhandled. Instead, he enjoys doing his own thing and showing affection on his own terms.
When it comes to playtime, though, his kitten energy comes out. He loves chasing toy mice and string toys and will happily entertain himself — and you — with his playful antics.
He isn’t the biggest fan of other cats, but with very slow introductions, he may be able to warm up to the right feline friend.
For the past two months, he’s been spending time at the Jefferson College Veterinary Technology program, where he received lots of care and attention. He is now fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, dewormed, and up to date on flea and tick prevention.
His adoption fee is only $50, and he can go home as soon as an application is completed.
If you’re looking for a handsome, playful kitty who just needs a little patience to show his sweet side, ID# 812196 might be the perfect match for you.
Come meet him and see if he’s the one you’ve been looking for!
