From the Editor’s Desk
We hope everyone had a happy Father’s Day and had the chance to spend a little time with the dads, grandfathers, mentors, and father figures who help hold our families and communities together. As we head into a new week in Jefferson County, this Monday edition brings together local government updates, community stories, public notices, weather, meetings, events, and a few neighbors worth recognizing.
This week, we will also be releasing a special edition of The Jefferson Review featuring our first Voters Guide. We want to thank every candidate who took the time to participate, answer questions, and help give residents a clearer look at the people asking to serve them. Our goal is simple: give voters useful information in one place and help Jefferson County residents feel more prepared when they head to the ballot box.
After residents raised concerns about roof permits and home improvement rules, Arnold officials are taking another look at parts of the city’s building code.
A June 27 community event in Pevely will bring racing, first responder tributes, raffles, T-shirts, and support for BackStoppers of Jefferson County.
Hillsboro R-3 recognizes a longtime educator whose career has included teaching, transportation, life skills, agriculture, and career exploration.
As he prepares to retire from The Salvation Army in Arnold, Hostetler reflects on local service, volunteerism, and helping families in difficult seasons.
This edition also includes the week’s Jefferson County forecast, upcoming government meetings, community events, and three black DSH kittens looking for homes.
County Dispatch
Roof permits, insurance costs, towing contracts, liquor licenses, stormwater complaints, and a $20 million Anheuser-Busch investment all came up at Arnold City Hall — but the biggest debate may be what rules homeowners should have to follow next.
BackStoppers of Jefferson County is teaming up with I-55 Raceway in Pevely for a night of dirt track racing, raffles, first responder tributes and community support. The June 27 event will include lights-and-sirens laps, T-shirt sales, raffle tickets, Jefferson College cadets helping on site, and $1 from every ticket sold going back to BackStoppers.
A longtime Hillsboro educator is stepping into a new role after 24 years of service to the district. From driving school buses to teaching life skills, English, agriculture, and career exploration, Regina Moore has built a career around helping students feel seen, supported, and prepared for what comes next.

Those Who Serve
As Larry Hostetler prepares to retire from his role with The Salvation Army in Arnold, his message remains focused on the same mission he has helped carry forward for years: local people serving local needs. From pantry days and disaster response to bell ringing, toy distribution, and countywide service extensions, Hostetler says there is room for more Jefferson County neighbors to step up and help.
